A good website will keep your visitors coming back, but how will you get them to come in the first place? Successful marketing of the site is essential for any online organisation or business.

Ask yourself

• Where are my potential visitors currently going? Should I advertise there?
• Which forums and mailing lists are they using?
• How can I join the conversation and publicise my site?
• How can I use Twitter, Facebook and other social services to hook in visitors?
• Is my web address everywhere (emails, business cards etc)?
